Small on purpose
The same people design, build, host and support everything we make. There’s no hand-off between the people who write the code and the people who answer your email.
We started RedEyeTek to build tools for problems we have ourselves. Ephor began at our own kitchen table, as a way to give our kids a safe corner of the internet without spending every evening fighting with settings screens.
The name
A red-eye is the flight that leaves after everyone else has gone to bed, and those late hours are when most of our software gets written. It’s also the small red light that tells you a camera is on. We like both meanings: steady work done quietly, and tools that are honest about what they watch.
What we believe
- Do one job well. Each product solves one problem completely, rather than ten problems halfway.
- Respect the people using it. No dark patterns, no nagging, no data sold or shared for advertising.
- Be honest about limits. If something can’t be done well, we’ll say so instead of pretending.
